The creation of the Orient of Taiwan and China came as a consequence of the consecration of the Grand Lodge of China.

Many brethren moving from the PRC to Taiwan were already members of the Scottish Rite and were
eager to continue their journey here.
These brethren sought the Supreme Council approval for establishment of their own bodies in 1955.
A first conferral of degrees was authorized on the same year in Taiwan under the Tokyo Bodies, with 31 candidates.
On September 7, 1955
A petition for the Letters of temporary for Taipei Bodies, endorsed by Tokyo Bodies were submitted to the Supreme Council, and on October 22 of 1957.
the Supreme Council issued the Permanent Charters for all four coordinated bodies.
